Kickstarting CareYourWay's Annual Present for a Pensioner Campaign Across the UK

Now in its ninth year, our much-loved campaign of Present for a Pensioner was created to combat loneliness and bring a little extra joy to older people who may otherwise face the season alone. Since it began in 2016, it has grown into a nationwide effort that brings together our carers, clients, families, and local communities in an inspiring show of kindness.

What the Campaign Means

Present for a Pensioner is simple at heart, but the impact is powerful. With the help of donations and fundraising, our teams lovingly create and deliver hampers filled with thoughtful gifts, festive treats, and messages of warmth. Each hamper is hand-delivered to someone nominated within the community, making the moment personal and meaningful.

For many, receiving a hamper is about more than the items inside. It is a reminder that they are valued, cared for, and not alone. That feeling of connection — of knowing that someone is thinking of you — can be truly life-changing, especially at a time of year when loneliness is felt most deeply.

Growing Year by Year

What began as a small community project has now touched the lives of hundreds of people across the UK. Each year, the campaign grows, with more hampers delivered and more communities involved. With all offices beginning their fundraising efforts towards combating loneliness in their communities, so far, our South Devon team has already raised over £900 in just the first two weeks, thanks to the generosity of local supporters. With teams across the country working together, we know even more people will feel the joy of this campaign in the weeks ahead.
