CareYourWay Talks Delegated Healthcare Activities at the Taunton Skills for Care Roadshow

Sarah Sabater and Cathy Tall share real-life stories at the Skills for Care Roadshow, showing how delegated healthcare further transforms support provided by carers at home.

CareYourWay was honoured to take part in the Skills for Care Roadshow in Taunton, an event that brought together professionals and providers from across the region to share ideas on how care at home can continue to evolve.

As one of only two guest speakers, Sarah Sabater, founder of CareYourWay, joined Cathy Tall RN from the Kingsbridge Hub to present on delegated healthcare activities — everyday healthcare tasks that can be safely and confidently carried out by trained carers instead of waiting for district nurses. Their session showed how this approach can have a profound impact on clients and their families.

A Story from South Devon

To make this real, Sarah and Cathy shared the story of a client supported by a live-in carer from CareYourWay South Devon. Thanks to delegated healthcare, the carer was able to provide timely support in the home, without delays for a nurse to arrive.

For the client’s family, this brought huge reassurance. They explained how much peace of mind it gave them to know their loved one was cared for straight away, and how they felt “indebted” to the carer for her ongoing dedication.

This simple but powerful story captured the heart of delegated healthcare: keeping people safe and comfortable at home, while easing the worries of families.

Complete & Competent Collaboration

Sarah and Cathy also discussed how delegation only works with the right foundations in place: robust training, competency checks, and close collaboration with district nurses. These measures ensure carers are not only capable, but also confident — and that families can feel secure knowing care is both personal and professional.

The presentation sparked much conversation as to the various eleemnts of these activities and the importance of ensuring every element is right on a larger scale to ease pressure off of District Nursing teams and provide quicker and more accessible responses to those supported at home.

Moving into the Future of Care

Looking ahead, CareYourWay sees a higher level of delegated healthcare as a vital part of its mission to continue evolving client and family support. CareYourWay’s purpose is to live and breathe excellence in care, and its mission is clear: to transform lives through outstanding care.

This commitment has been part of the brand's story since Sarah, Manuel, and the Sabater family first founded CareYourWay, and it continues to guide every step today.

By building strong partnerships with healthcare professionals and empowering care teams, Sarah, Cathy, and the wider CareYourWay network are helping to remove waiting times, deliver faster responses, and give families peace of mind that loved ones are safe and supported at home.

For CareYourWay, the Roadshow was a reminder of why the work began and where it is heading: towards a future where care at home is more skilled and supportive for those we support.
