Multiple Sclerosis Care

We understand the difficulties of coping on your own with multiple sclerosis.

Introduction

MS is a neurological condition that affects around 100,000 people in the UK. It is an autoimmune condition - that's where something goes wrong with the immune system (the body’s defence against infection) and it mistakenly attacks healthy body tissue.

MS affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord; they become damaged and hardened, disrupting nerve signals. MS is not directly inherited; a combination of genetic and environmental factors are thought to cause the disease.

We Are Here To Support You

We work with each of our clients on an individual basis – starting with a detailed initial assessment by our Management team to identify specific needs and any specialist support required. We’ll then put together a comprehensive care and lifestyle plan, taking into account all clinical needs, as well as social requirements, goals and aspirations.

We know it’s not always easy to welcome somebody new into your home. That’s why we take the time to match each of our clients to the right team of personal care assistants providing their day-to-day care, based on both clinical skill and personality. If you care for a loved one who has multiple sclerosis, it’s important to remember that you need to take care of yourself too. We know that caring for someone with MS requires a lot of time and attention, especially when managing the symptoms of multiple sclerosis. This is why we provide MS respite care so that you can take a break whilst your loved one is still given the support they require from an experienced MS carer.

Our Team

Naturally, our care assistants develop a detailed knowledge of our clients’ needs and condition as they work with them. That means they are often ideally placed to identify early signs of relapse, or more gradual deterioration, and take the appropriate action.

Our Clients

At Care Your Way, we understand that our clients’ care needs may change over time as their condition progresses. Through regular care plan review by our dedicated team, we ensure that we always provide the right level of support to our clients.

From palliative care to personal care, domestic help, assistance with your bills on the day to day running of your home, taking your pets to the vets or going for a walk, do your shopping, to more complex care needs like peg feeds, double up care due to care necessities, we are here to help.
