More and more people in the UK are choosing Home Care as they prefer the option of staying in their own home and sticking to their own schedule, along with the fact that the older population is growing year on year means there is a rise in the need for Home Care agencies and their services.
Have you been contemplating a move into the Care Industry, perhaps within an already existing well established Home Care franchise? Maybe you have a passion for helping others and are looking for a better work life balance but you have put aside the thought of investing due to the presumed qualifications needed.
Many people believe that they don’t have the right qualifications to be able to invest in a home care franchise, when in fact they do!
We’re here to offer some clarity on the subject of the Qualifications some assume are required to join a Home Care franchise and help you gain a better insight to what may be required.
Absolutely not! You do not need to posses a medical degree to join a Home Care Franchise. Though a degree within the health, nursing or medical field may be what brought you to realise your interest in the Home Care Sector.
The role of a franchisee consists of managing the business' day-to-day activities, such as finance, people management and marketing, the responsibility of overseeing daily operations, building networks, and establishing key connections with referral providers within your territory.
Nope! But it is true that a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care is a required qualification for a registered Care Manager, which is mandatory to be registered with the CQC. Possessing this qualification would be advantageous in the early stages of the process until you appoint your Registered Care Manager.
Again, this is truly not required for a CareYourWay franchisee, as we will support you to recruit a care manager, who will be the person responsible in seeing the everyday delivery of outstanding care.
Not straight away! It is a legal requirement that Care agencies in the UK need to be registered and approved by the CQC. The commission ensures the quality and safety of care in hospitals, dentists, ambulances, care homes, and the care given in people’s own homes.
Registration with the CQC only becomes a factor once you step into the franchise. As part of the onboarding process with CareYourWay, we will guide you through the CQC registration process. Once you are registered, we will also support you to ensure you maintain your registration and deliver consistently brilliant care.
Not at all! A degree or a qualification in management are not a necessity to be considered as a franchisee, though a knowledge of Human Resources and UK employment legislation will be beneficial within your role.
When assessing a potential franchisee for CareYourWay, we look for a good business mind, great management and people skills, good confidence and above all, a kind heart. As a CareYourWay franchisee, your core role will be to develop and drive your business, focusing on its financial performance and managing your team.
