At CareYourWay Stockport, we believe living well means staying active, feeling connected, and enjoying time with others. That’s why we’re delighted to support the Stretch and Strengthen Yoga programme, a series of free sessions designed especially for older adults in our community.
These sessions provide a gentle and welcoming environment where participants can move at their own pace, build confidence, and meet new people. The classes focus on balance, strength, and mindfulness, helping both body and mind feel nurtured.
Each class includes chair and standing yoga options so everyone can take part comfortably. After the 45-minute practice, participants can enjoy tea, cake, and friendly conversation. These moments often become the highlight of the morning, offering a chance to make new friends and reconnect with neighbours.
Sessions run from 10am to 12pm at Tides Within, 34 Market Place, Stockport, SK1 1ES. They are completely free thanks to funding from the UK Government and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.

These classes help older adults feel stronger and more confident while enjoying the warmth of community. Small moments, like a shared laugh or a friendly chat, can make a real difference, and that is what these mornings celebrate.
