CareYourWay Middleton Brings Festive Cheer to St Ann’s Hospice

CareYourWay Middleton spreads festive cheer at St Ann’s Hospice with hampers, handmade cards, and community support through the Present for a Pensioner campaign

Supporting the Community

CareYourWay Middleton recently embraced the true spirit of Christmas with a heartwarming visit to St Ann’s Hospice in Little Hulton, as part of their support for the 'Present for a Pensioner' campaign. The day was filled with kindness, community, and festive joy, reaching out to those who could use a little extra cheer this holiday season.

The team brought along extra Christmas hampers to share with the hospice’s residents and staff, aiming to brighten their day and spread the joy of the season. Each hamper was filled with thoughtful treats, a small gesture to show that the community cares, especially at a time when it can be easy to feel forgotten.

Special Visitors from Nurturing Hands Childcare

Adding an extra sprinkle of magic to the visit were the wonderful children from Nurturing Hands Childcare. The children had lovingly created handmade Christmas cards to accompany the hampers, each one bursting with colour, creativity, and festive wishes.

“The kids were so proud of their creations, and it really showed,” shared Becky Whitehouse, a CareYourWay Middleton Director. “Their cards were such a lovely touch and brought so much happiness to everyone who received them.”

Also lending her support was Sarah Jones from Morgan Sindall, whose company has been incredibly generous in helping the campaign reach more people. Sarah joined the visit to see firsthand the difference their efforts are making in the local community.

The visit was met with smiles and gratitude from the hospice’s staff, who were delighted by the thoughtful gifts and personal touches for some of their residents. For many, the hampers and cards weren’t just about the contents—they were a reminder that they are valued and cared for.

The 'Present for a Pensioner' campaign is all about making sure older members of the community feel connected and supported, particularly during a season that can sometimes feel isolating. CareYourWay Middleton’s involvement has been a shining example of what can be achieved when people come together with kindness and generosity, and has rapidly become one of the network's largest campaigns of the year.

A Heartfelt Relfection

Reflecting on the day, a Director & Registered Manager, Beth McCarthy, said, “It was such a lovely day, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. Seeing the smiles and knowing we’ve brought a bit of joy to people’s lives is what it’s all about.”

The team hopes that their efforts will inspire others to get involved in acts of kindness, big or small, and to reach out to those who may be feeling lonely this Christmas.

The visit to St Ann’s Hospice was more than just a delivery of gifts—it was a moment of connection and compassion, showing that nobody is alone and that the community is stronger together. With initiatives like these, CareYourWay Middleton is making this festive season a little brighter for everyone they touch.
