At CareYourWay South Devon, we believe that wellbeing should be at the heart of every care journey. We’re proud to be introducing a new innovation to our service — digital health checks, delivered using the trusted Whzan Digital Health Blue Box.
This user-friendly technology allows our team to monitor vital health signs, right from the comfort of a client’s home. It’s a gentle, non-invasive process that helps create a clear picture of someone’s current health and any changes that may be happening over time.
The system measures key clinical indicators, such as:
These readings are then used to generate a NEWS2 score (National Early Warning Score), a clinically recognised tool used across the NHS to identify early signs of health deterioration. This means that potential concerns can be flagged up and acted on quickly, often before symptoms escalate into something more serious.
For our clients and their families, this brings an added layer of reassurance. By identifying changes early, we can involve the appropriate healthcare professionals sooner, helping to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and ensuring that any treatment or care adjustments happen promptly and smoothly.
It’s a proactive and personalised approach that fits seamlessly into our existing care visits. With the support of our fully trained team, these health checks are offered with kindness and discretion, without ever being intrusive.
Whether someone is receiving companionship visits or complex live-in care, this added safeguard allows them — and their loved ones — to feel even more confident and secure at home.
But our commitment to wellbeing doesn’t stop with the people we care for — we’re just as passionate about supporting our incredible team.
As part of our staff wellbeing programme, we are now offering complimentary digital health checks to any member of our care team, during their review meetings at the office. These checks are entirely optional and provide an opportunity for our team to check in on their own health, with the same thoughtful, professional approach that we offer to our clients.
Rob, our in-house trainer, has been leading the way in providing Whzan training to our Supervisors and wider team. His sessions have been key in building confidence and consistency as we roll out this technology further across South Devon.
“We know that our team works incredibly hard — both emotionally and physically — to provide the best possible care,” said Rob. “Offering health checks is one way we can give back and make sure they feel just as supported as the people they look after.”

This initiative is part of a wider journey to ensure that health and happiness go hand in hand — for our clients, our carers, and the communities we serve.
By combining digital innovation with our family-run, people-first approach, we’re proud to offer a service that’s not only compassionate and personal, but also forward-thinking and clinically informed.
We look forward to continuing to expand this offering across our service and to helping more people feel safer, healthier, and more confident in their care journey.
