The annual Kingsbridge Show brought sunshine, smiles, and a strong sense of community spirit to the South Hams this September — and our CareYourWay South Devon team were proud to be part of it. From fundraising for our Present for a Pensioner campaign to showcasing innovative health services, the day was full of connection, fun, and meaningful conversations.
Set against the beautiful South Devon countryside, the Kingsbridge Show was the perfect chance for our team to meet new faces, reconnect with friends of CareYourWay, and spend time with some of our wonderful clients and carers. We welcomed visitors with goodie bags, raffle prizes, and information about the wide range of home care services we provide — from daily personal support and companionship to specialist dementia care and respite for families.
Events like this highlight what matters most to us: people. At CareYourWay, care is never just about tasks — it’s about real relationships, built on trust, laughter, and kindness. That same ethos of compassion shaped everything our team shared on the day.

One of the biggest highlights was fundraising for Present for a Pensioner, our initiative that has been running since 2016. Each year, we partner with local businesses and communities to raise funds and gather donations, which are used to create luxury hampers. These hampers are hand-delivered to older people who may be facing challenges or spending Christmas alone, spreading warmth and companionship during the festive season.
At the show, our South Devon team raised an amazing £258, helping to bring the total for this year’s campaign to an incredible £880 in just a week and a half. Every penny raised goes directly towards making Christmas brighter for those in need — a true example of community generosity at work.

Visitors also enjoyed taking part in competitions, including our popular “Name the Bear” activity. For just £1, people could suggest names for our cuddly teddy, with all proceeds supporting the campaign. With plenty of raffle prizes and friendly conversations throughout the day, the atmosphere at our stand was one of excitement and shared purpose.
The Kingsbridge Show was also the ideal platform to demonstrate a recent addition to our South Devon services: Digital Health Checks, launched earlier this summer. Using Whzan Healthcare’s innovative technology, these checks give quick insights into key health indicators such as blood pressure, oxygen levels, and breathing patterns.
Visitors were able to experience the checks for themselves and learn how they’re already helping clients across South Devon to live safely and confidently at home. A special thank you goes to Rob, our fantastic Training Lead, who did a brilliant job demonstrating the technology and answering questions. Rob has been instrumental in leading the rollout across the region, ensuring that our clients benefit from this extra layer of reassurance and support.

The show was more than fundraising and health checks — it was also a chance to celebrate teamwork. Our carers enjoyed time together outside of their day-to-day roles, strengthening bonds and showing the passion they bring to supporting our clients. When carers feel valued and supported, it shines through in the care they deliver, and the Kingsbridge Show was a wonderful reminder of that.
The Kingsbridge Show was a brilliant celebration of what CareYourWay South Devon stands for: community spirit, innovation in care, and a determination to make a difference. We are so grateful to everyone who stopped by our stand, donated to Present for a Pensioner, or simply came to say hello.
With fundraising continuing across our offices nationwide, and services like Digital Health Checks now enhancing the support we provide, we are excited for what lies ahead. If you’d like to get involved, please search for your local CareYourWay office or get in touch with us directly. Together, we can continue to change lives, spread joy, and support independence in the place that matters most: home.
