CareYourWay Kick-Starts 10th Anniversary Christmas Campaign at Kingsbridge Show

A Day at the Heart of the South Hams Community

Returning as proud sponsors of the Kingsbridge Show for the second consecutive year, the local, award-winning home care provider joined thousands of visitors for a sun-soaked Saturday celebrating the people, businesses and organisations that make the South Hams such a special place to call home.

With bubbles, goodies, competitions and a fundraising raffle, the CareYourWay stand was busy throughout the day, with plenty of familiar faces stopping by alongside many new ones.

The team also had the opportunity to speak with local families about care and support available across the area.

Celebrating 10 Years of Present for a Pensioner

Most importantly, the day helped kick-start a particularly special year for Present for a Pensioner, CareYourWay’s community campaign which celebrates its 10th anniversary this Christmas.

Founded in South Devon in 2016, the campaign was created to help combat loneliness at Christmas. Local people are invited to nominate someone who may be spending the festive period alone, or who might otherwise be forgotten, to receive a luxury festive hamper and, most importantly, a reminder that their community is thinking of them.

What started as a local tradition has since travelled across the country, with CareYourWay franchise offices now bringing Present for a Pensioner to their own communities each year.

£387 Raised, with More to Come

An incredible £387 was raised on Show day, with fundraising continuing through the team’s raffle and the generous support of local businesses and community champions who will help bring this year’s hampers to life over the coming months.

CareYourWay South Devon has been supporting local families since 2005 and today provides Outstanding-rated home care across Plymouth, the South Hams and Torbay, helping people remain independent in the homes and communities they know and love.
