Combatting Loneliness with Arts & Crafts

There was plenty of summer cheer in Harbertonford this July, as CareYourWay South Devon welcomed clients, families and members of our home care team to our latest Creative Café.

Our stunning Summer Creative Café was filled with seasonal crafts, homemade treats and plenty of conversation, giving everyone the opportunity to spend quality time together in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

And while there was plenty of fun to be had, these special afternoons have an important purpose too: helping combat loneliness and keeping the people we support connected to their local community.

A Summer Afternoon to Remember

Working in partnership with The Creation Station, our Summer Creative Café gave everyone the chance to get creative with a seasonal activity and make something special to take home or share with someone they love.

Alongside the crafting came live music, refreshments and delicious treats baked by our local office team, with plenty of laughter and conversation around the tables.

Since launching our Creative Cafés in March, the completely free sessions have quickly become a firm favourite among our clients. In fact, we have already had one particularly lovely request: “Can we have these every week?”

We think that says rather a lot!

Bringing People Together in South Devon

Another Reason to Celebrate

July’s Summer Creative Café also gave us something extra special to celebrate.

Together with our clients, families and care teams, we marked CareYourWay being named among the UK’s Top 20 Home Care Groups for the fourth consecutive year.

Sharing such a special achievement with the people at the heart of our South Devon service made the occasion all the more meaningful, and naturally called for a little extra cake!

Following the success of our summer session, we are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for our next Creative Café in Harbertonford, with plenty more seasonal creativity and good company to come.
