CareYourWay CEO Offers Help to the CQC to Improve Business Application Process Nationwide

CareYourWay CEO, Sarah Sabater, becomes in direct contact with CQC Executives to help source a solution to the Nationwide Application Crisis.

Application Challenges

Amidst widespread shortages at the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the home care industry faces significant challenges in delivering timely and quality services to individuals in need. One such challenge was highlighted when a franchise partner of CareYourWay in the Stockport region encountered a staggering 28-week delay in opening their business, still awaiting their Nominated Individual and Registered Manager interviews. This delay not only impacts franchise operations but, more importantly, affects the quality of care that individuals rely on to maintain their well-being and independence at home.

Recognizing the need for a solution

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Sarah Sabater, CEO of CareYourWay, took proactive steps by directly engaging with key executives at the CQC. This direct outreach aimed to foster collaborative efforts and explore viable solutions to address the challenges faced by home care providers across the country, with a primary focus on allowing quality home care providers to open in a swifter manner, therefore alleviating pressure from the widely known home care crisis, improving the accessibility of quality care for individuals in their own homes.

The prolonged wait, far exceeding the publicly advertised 12-week timeline, has significant implications for individuals and families awaiting essential home care services. In this one case alone, over £17,950 has been wasted due to the long waiting queues. Further, banks grow anxious of the turbulent CQC wait as individuals who have sought lending face uncountable delays. In a wider picture, entry into the home care setting for business-minded individuals or passionate home care providers would be made extremely difficult should lenders oppose investments into the health care setting. More importantly, individuals requiring care may experience prolonged periods without the necessary support, impacting their overall well-being and quality of life at home.

What our CEO felt

Sarah Sabater, CEO of CareYourWay, said:

“In a time when our nation is in dire need of quality home care services, with hospitals struggling to find sustainable discharge solutions and the NHS pushed to its limits, the impact of a national home care crisis is felt in every aspect of daily life. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, we have committed ourselves to working closely with the CQC and its stakeholders to reform the application process for home care businesses. The level of collaboration and the swift progress achieved thus far have exceeded our expectations, and we eagerly anticipate the positive outcomes that will follow.”

As a shed of light in turbulent times, the proactive engagement between CareYourWay and the CQC signifies a large possibility of positive change. Open discussions are now occurring with CQC executives and Sarah Sabater, who is championing prompt change to allow quality home care providers to open in a much more punctual manner.
