Community Involvement

How we work with and support the local community

Introduction

We are strong believers in the values of community involvement, embracing the positive impact of local businesses and individuals.

We are committed to reaching a broader community, running several schemes and events to build awareness of current worldwide problems, like the fight against dementia, cancer, and strokes. We also hold coffee mornings, afternoon teas and mind-stimulating activities and events for our clients, supporting them with social interaction, providing an opportunity to meet with others.

How we involve the local community

Our Events

Every year, we host a multitude of events, supporting the mental health of our fantastic clients.

Running schemes and events to promote a healthy wellbeing is something that we always strive to do, especially over these troubling times where Covid-19 has restricted inclusiveness. Running inclusive events also helps combat loneliness, something that we, as a company, feel very strong about. With the effort of our fantastic carers and members of the community, alongside kind business owners who make events possible, we are able to fruitfully launch schemes to assist involvement and mental welfare. Just to name a few, we run an annual CareYourWay fish and chip nights, delivering local, fresh fish (with scrumptious chips) to our clients, their friendly carers enjoying a meal beside them too. We also fundraise for many charities including dementia, stroke, cancer, and climate awareness. As a more traditional event, we run afternoon teas for clients, who are able to sit alongside their friend or carer and enjoy a traditional english treat!

Whilst these are just a few, we run tens of schemes throughout the year to keep clients and our community involved.

A great cause

Present for a Pensioner

We are incredibly proud to be the founders of an annual event, widely recognised in our community: ‘Present for a Pensioner’.

We heavily involve local businesses to sponsor presents at Christmas, offering luxury hampers for those who wouldn’t normally receive a gift at Christmas. We were incredibly honoured to be able to record last year’s event in a Covid-19 secure way, showing our community the incredible impact this fantastic scheme has!

We were humbled to have received input from the Deputy Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care in the South, who said:

“The Christmas season can be time of loneliness for vulnerable people. Reaching out to them with the annual “present for a pensioner” project is something to applaud. It is lovely to see such a wonderful project, letting those people trying to live an independent life know that they are not alone and there is a wider community out their ready to support and befriend them. This is something to commend."
