A Heartwarming Story

In a heartwarming tale of resilience and love, Mike, a local resident living with Parkinson's disease, has become an inspiration to us all. Despite facing numerous challenges, Mike's determination to enjoy life and pursue his passions remains undiminished. His unwavering spirit is supported by his wife, Denise, who has been his steadfast rock through thick and thin.

Adding to his trials, Mike is also dealing with limited eyesight, for which he is currently undergoing treatment. However, this has not dimmed his passion for life. From 1959 to 1971, Mike served our country as an HGV driver in the army. After leaving the army in 1971, he continued his career driving HGV wagons, showcasing his dedication and work ethic.

On the 7th of May, 1966, Mike married his forever love, Denise, after her father, William, gave him permission to ask for her hand in marriage. Their love story began in 1963 when they met as pen pals, which eventually led to dates at the local dance in the King Fisher Club. Their enduring love has been a source of strength for both of them.
