CareYourWay Chester has been proud to take part in its much-loved Present for a Pensioner initiative, delivering 38 thoughtfully prepared Christmas hampers to individuals across Chester and the surrounding communities.

Present for a Pensioner is a CareYourWay-led scheme created to tackle loneliness and bring moments of warmth and connection during the festive season. The initiative works closely with local businesses, healthcare professionals and community members to identify individuals who may otherwise spend Christmas alone or without a gift to open.

A Community-Led Effort

Each recipient was nominated by people who know the community best, including healthcare professionals, social workers, friends and family members. These nominations help ensure the hampers reach those who would benefit most from a simple but meaningful gesture of kindness.

Every hamper was carefully put together to offer comfort and festive cheer, serving as a reminder that someone is thinking of them and that they are not alone.

Delivering More Than a Gift

Members of the CareYourWay Chester team personally delivered many of the hampers, taking time to chat, listen and share a friendly moment with each recipient. These conversations were just as important as the gifts themselves, offering reassurance, companionship and a genuine sense of connection.

Additional hampers were delivered to Princes Way in Frodsham, where staff were able to pass them directly on to residents, helping the initiative reach even more people within the community.
